What you Need to Know

The International Mining Investment Conference and Exhibition on Nigeria (IMICON) is a private sector led initiative aimed at propelling the rapid development of the Nigerian mining industry. Its represents a major contribution towards the private sector led development of the solid mineral sector, a core strategy of the Nigeria Government policy on diversifying the economy from oil to the non oil sector.

The mission and vision of the organizers is to have an annual mining event that focuses on the huge mineral resources endowment in Nigeria and the West African sub region and act as a catalyst for further exploration, exploitation and beneficiation of the mineral resources by local and foreign investors.

The Conference first took place in 13-15 June 2006 (IMICON 2006), 13-15 February 2007 (IMICON 2007) and 12-15 February 2008 (IMICON 2008 & 2009) subsequently at Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja. This top level event attracted participants from Canada, U.K., Poland, Romania and Egypt and have been described as the biggest and most exciting mining event in Nigeria.
